- Microsoft Entourage through WebDAV
- Wireless email using handheld devices such as BlackBerry, Treo™, and PocketPC
Multi-domain mail server Kerio MailServer supports multiple domains. Each domain contains its own set of users, groups, email addresses, and mailing lists. Sending email SMTP and WebMail are used for sending email and either can run in a secure mode, where data is encrypted using SSL.
Retrieving email using IMAP In addition to retrieving mail using the POP3 protocol, Kerio Mail Server allows the user to work with the more advanced IMAP protocol.
The philosophy behind IMAP is that all messages and folders are stored on the server. The user's email program is a true client, caching messages locally from the mail server. The clear advantage of this is the ability to work with up-to-date email from more than one workstation, while the current state is continually synchronised with the server on each of the workstations. Kerio MailServer supports all IMAP clients such as Apple Mail client and Thunderbird on the desktop, and VersaMail™ and ChatterEmail on handheld devices. Using BlackBerry with Kerio MailServer Kerio MailServer allows mobile users to send and receive email directly from their BlackBerry devices and take advantage of push-based, over-the-air messaging.
