October 10, 2006 Kerio Technologies joins CalConnect
CalConnect tackles interoperability of calendar and scheduling information between messaging servers and clients
Groupware vendor Kerio Technologies Inc. has joined The Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium (www.calconnect.org), as it further reinforces its push towards open standards and protocols for email and groupware collaboration. Kerio Technologies’ flagship messaging product Kerio MailServer targets small and mid-size businesses, offering a robust Webmail client in addition to its support for third party calendaring solutions such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Entourage or Apple iCal. “Through our membership at CalConnect, we aim to help drive open standards for calendaring and increase interoperability across different calendaring servers and clients,” says Dusan Vitek, VP Worldwide Marketing at Kerio Technologies. “Kerio brings tremendous innovation to CalConnect,” notes Dave Thewlis, Executive Director of the Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium. “We welcome their aggressive work in creating CalDAV-based solutions.” As part of the CalConnect consortium, Kerio Technologies will collaborate with other members on a new protocol called CalDAV and help generate wider CalDAV adoption throughout the industry.
