Certification program

Q: How does my organization become eligible to participate in the certification program?

A: In order to become eligible for the certification program, organization must do the following.

  1. If you are a new reseller with Kerio Technologies, first sign up on the business partner registration form
  2. Sign up on the certification test registration form to take the certification exam, and then successfully complete the exam.
Q: After we become certified is there anything we need to do to maintain our eligibility for the program?

A: In order to continue in the certification program, certified partners need to do the following.
  1. Certifications should be renewed once every 2 years
  2. If the certification is associated with a particular organation, that organization should have at least one member on staff who has successfully completed the certification exam within the past 2 years
  3. Include a Kerio Technologies link (to www.kerio.com) from your site or post the Kerio Business Partner logo (to www.kerio.com) on your site - following Kerio marketing communications conventions and guidelines


Q: Does my organization have to participate in the certification program in order to continue to get our dealer discount?

A: No, all new and existing dealers will continue to receive the standard dealer discount.

Certification exam

Q: How long is the exam?

A: There is a 3 hour time limit to take the exam. There are 20 questions on the exam in the form of short-answer. Answers to all 20 short-answer questions must be written in your own words.

Q: What might a typical short-answer question on the exam look like?

A: Here are two example exam questions.

  1. A Kerio MailServer customer calls and says, “My security log is full of thousands of virus warnings, and my mail queue is full of thousands of outgoing messages!” The mail queue messages are not viruses. In what fashion has the user most likely mis-configured the mail server?
  2. What does the “Connection Limit” option do in Kerio WinRoute Firewall? Why is it useful?
Q: How is the exam administered?

A: Upon submitting the certification exam registration form you will receive an email with your exam URL and pass code. You may take the exam at any time. Once you have opened the exam page, you must complete the exam within 3 hours. Be sure to click submit upon completion.

Q: What is a passing score?

A: A 90% ratio is required to pass.

  • Internet messaging basics

  • Troubleshooting Kerio Technologies products
  • Kerio Technologies licensing policies
Q: How should I prepare for the exam?

A: There are several things you can do to help prepare for the exam.
  1. Download, install and test the current releases of Kerio Technologies products.
  2. Review Kerio Technologies product manuals.
  3. Review knowledgebase materials, paying special attention to the following articles.
  4. Review the Kerio Business Partner Web-based training modules.
Q: What if we are a Mac only or Linux only dealer?

A: Currently Kerio Technologies firewall products are not available on Mac or Linux platforms. Although we ask that all of our certified partners learn our entire product line.

Q: If I do not pass, can I take the test again?

A: Yes, you may register to take the test again if you do not pass.

Preferred program

Q: How does my organization become eligible to participate in the preferred program?

A: In order to become eligible for the preferred program, organization must do 2 things.

  1. Meet the partner certification eligibility criteria
  2. Demonstrate 2 consecutive quarters of successful sales totaling pre-set quarterly volume minimums; or alternatively, for partners on credit terms, pre-purchase licenses in advance to meet volume minimums
Q: What are the quarterly volume minimums for the preferred program?

A: For current volume minimums for the preferred program contact us.

Q: When do the quarters begin and end for the preferred program?

A: Quarters run as follows.
  1. January 1 to March 31
  2. April 1 to June 30
  3. July 1 to September 30
  4. October 1 to December 31
Q: After we become a preferred partner is there anything we need to do to maintain our eligibility for the program?

A: In order to continue in the preferred program, preferred partners need to do the following.
  1. Maintain their status in the certification program
  2. Maintain quarterly minimums, i.e., if a Preferred Partner fails to meet their quarterly minimums for 2 consecutive quarters, that partner may loose their preferred status
  3. Share sales reporting, forecasting data, and notable success stories for Kerio products at the end of each quarter, and occasionally work together with Kerio Technologies on customer case studies, marketing and press related activities


Q: How does preferred e-mail support work?

A: Preferred email support provides response times within 8-hours, except weekends and holidays. Preferred partners can contact us for the appropriate alias for this preferred level of e-mail support.
